📷 Camera Permission

Our app requests access to your device's camera for the following purposes:

• Scanning food items and barcodes for nutritional information
• Taking photos for Mood Snaps (food stories)
• AI-powered food recognition and meal analysis
• Scanning pantry items for inventory tracking

Camera access is only used when you actively use these features. We do not access your camera in the background. Photos are only uploaded when you explicitly choose to share them.

🍪 Cookies & Advertising

Mood to Meal does not use advertising ID or serve third-party ads. We do not track you for advertising purposes.

🔑 Authentication

Login is handled by our authentication provider. Your password is never stored in plain text — only a secure hash is retained by the auth system. Session tokens are kept on your device to keep you signed in; signing out clears them.

🤖 AI & Third-Party Services

Mood to Meal uses AI and nutrition data providers to generate meal, recipe, food-scan, and meal-planner results. When you request a result, the relevant input (for example ingredients, mood, or a photo) is sent to these providers to generate your output, and may be stored by them according to their own policies. AI-generated content can be inaccurate — you can report any inappropriate or incorrect output from inside the app.

🗄️ Data Storage

Your data is stored on our managed backend database and private object storage. Uploaded photos are stored privately and referenced from your records. Access is restricted so that only you (and our service where required) can reach your personal records.

⏳ Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we remove your personal records within 30 days, except for limited records we must keep for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.

• Withdraw camera permission anytime from your device settings

🧒 Children's Privacy

Mood to Meal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encrypted transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the revised policy in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
